Marguerite 2020 - 97/100
This nec plus ultra of Cahors comes from a rare soil of red, ferruginous clay planted by Catherine Maisonneuve and Matthieu Cosse. 2011, the first vintage of this confidential, parcel-based cuvée, foreshadows the future of Cahors. A restrained power that reveals itself over time with an elegance that synthesises all the qualities of Malbec, all wrapped in a unique velvety texture that is the hallmark of the winemakers' vinification. Sidérolithe 2021 - 94/100
Catherine Maisonneuve and Matthieu Cosse were the first to reveal the potential of the Cabernet Franc planted in Quercy on a pocket of clay. One of the great forgotten grapes of Cahors, its austere tannins signal the cold 2021 vintage, but above all the aristocracy of this grape is revealed by the tasty fruit on a texture that suggests a radiant evolution held together by the imprint of its terroir.
