THE TRAIL OF THE GREATS

WE'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THEIR IMPECCABLE CAREERS FOR 30 AND 40 YEARS. HERE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE IMPRESSED US THE MOST. MORE AND LESS WELL KNOWN, WE WON'T FORGET THEM

Here we have an extraordinary pairing of boy and girl, once again proving that they complement each other to go further and higher. Their talent is at the service of the Malbec grape variety and the Cahors appellation, which they have done much to awaken from routine and lethargy. At the outset, there was a passion for great wine, for its taste and for its ethics. They go to great lengths to buy the best wines and share them with their friends. They also have an intuition for the formidable potential of a grape variety and a terroir that are stupidly underestimated and, sadly, all too often misused. Starting from nothing, through their hard work and the success of their vintages with true connoisseurs, they now have a large, magnificently cultivated vineyard. And their wines set an ideal of truth and beauty for the whole of the South-West. Indeed, some of us think that the Cahors La Marguerite or Les Laquets now rival the greatest Pomerols, which have lost the marvellous perfume of violets given by Malbec at its best.
